Surface energy measurements can be used to make decisions about the further processing of substrate materials. For printing, bonding, welding and any surface technology in fields of high surface adhesion.
Read moreFischer Test Inks can be used to determine the wetability (surface tension) of a material surface in a matter of seconds. The liquid is applied to the surface with the Fischer Test Inks or Dyn Test Pens. If the measurement shows a value of 38 mN/m or higher, it can be assumed that printing, foaming and other further processing can be carried out successfully.
Read moreSurface tension measurement is performed with the appropriate test ink according to the value of the surface to be tested. Based on the behavior of the applied ink, the surface is accurately analyzed. If the drawn ink line contracts within 2 seconds, the surface tension is lower than that of the ink. In this case, the adhesion forces of the tested surface material are still too weak. If the applied ink remains in the form of a continuous line, the surface energy of the substrate being measured is at least as high as the surface energy of the ink.
non-toxic, non-irritating, non-polluting
adjustment values 24 - 72 mN/m in increments of 2
The green colored ethanol based test inks are special liquids designed to measure surface tension in an environmentally friendly and easy way. As non-toxic test inks, their application is based on DIN 53364 or ISO 8296. In most cases, the green inks can fully replace conventional formamide inks. Depending on the material and material properties, different behavior may occur.
Our patented 'Easy Test Pen' contains green test ink based on ethanol. The test ink is specifically designed to test the success of your cleaning process in a health safe manner. The innovative technology of the integrated check valve prevents possible contamination of the ink inside the pen, ensuring the accuracy of the test results until the ink is used up.
Ethanol-based test ink
The use of test inks by means of a spray bottle is particularly suitable for determining the degree of cleanliness achieved after surface cleaning, degreasing work or ultrasonic cleaning.Experience has shown that values in the range of 38 mN/m are also sufficient here to be able to apply subsequent bonding processes to the surface.
toxic test inks
Adjustment range 18 - 105 mN/m
The blue formamide-based test inks are used to determine surface tension. The formamide inks are liquids according to DIN 53364 or ISO 8296.
non-toxic test inks
Reference range 34 - 46 mN/m
The purple glycol-based test ink is a non-toxic replacement for the blue formamide test inks when testing surface energy in the 34 - 46 mN/m reference range. It is equivalent to the blue formamide inks in terms of test performance and application. It also meets DIN 53364 and ISO 8296 specifications for test performance and application, but is less harmful to health and the environment because it uses glycol instead of formamide.
The simple application of our Coronatest pen determines whether a successful pretreatment of various plastics (PP and PE etc.) has taken place. If the line drawn with this quick test pen stops, the surface energy is 38 mN/m or higher. In this case, the treatment carried out is sufficient for further processing. The line drawn with the Coronatest Pen in red ink dries in seconds.
